Poppin' bottles every week.
Bernard Fouquet Vouvray
This lovely vouvray came from Maison Premiere. Everything about this was delicious, and would have paired excellently with the clams had we ordered them, nice and sweet as it should be. Worth it if your on a date or out with friends.
Francois Montand
Super sweet, lots of strawberries. Tastes like candy. Looks pricier than it is, and would make a great party wine.
R.H. Coutier Ambonnay Brut (left)
Ricci Curbastro Rosé Brut (right)
It was Valentines Day this week so we opened two, naturally.
The Rosé will definitely need a minute to open up, was a little off putting at first with a very sharp and distinct taste. It has a really nice color, and comes in a somewhat tacky but cool frosted bottle.
The Ambonnay was my favorite out of the two, a little lighter than the Rosé, had some nice strawberry and peach tones.
“High Class Prosecco”
So this was tagged “High Class Prosecco” on the shelf. For under $20 it has some great apple undertones, and a decent consistency of bubbles. Not my favorite, but I would buy it again.
Emotion - Cremant Limoux
This was a real winner, fine bubbles with just enough sweetness and a smooth finish. I could drink this everyday.
Opera Lambrusco
I called it “grape juice with bubbles” while drinking it. If you’re into that idea, you might like it.
